Herzog/Komolchick Nuptials

Dear Sister

As you must have heard by now. I have been totally in charge of Maureen Herzog and Denny Wayde Komolchicks Wedding.

The original plan was to have a Maureen and Denny bungee jump off a tower at Fiesta Texas, in San Antonio as their first act as man and wife directly following their vows. I think they're blamin the cancellation on the Hotel and Motel rates, But the truth is just between you and me, Maureen is three months pregnant and so you can see why the bungee thing is out.

They finally settled on a garden wedding in the little garden and putt-putt court her Grandmother has at her trailer and Fishing Camp. Its pretty small and surrounded by a chain link fence. But I intend to completely transform it.

First I'm gonna thread crepe paper and ribbons through the chain link. Purple and gold because that was Denny Wayde's school colors when he was the quarterback for the Liberty Hill Panthers. There's sorta of a jungle Jim of a thing in the middle so I'm decorating that to look like a Gazebo.

Her Grandmother had some things planted there but they were pretty neglected, so I've been puttin miracle grow and plenty of water on everything, Especially the pointsettias, the black eyed-susans, the zinnias, the variegated elephant ears, and the wandering Jew baskets.

Maureen's maid of honor is her sister ,Spunky Herzog. You may remember that she's been in a wheel-chair since she was little, so I have to have a little ramp constructed leading up to the gate and decorate the wheels of her chair with crepe paper pin wheels.

Just in case it rains, I was wonderin if I could borrow that great big tarpolion you have .I remember that time we went tubin on the river in New Braunfels it covered the entire campsite practically. If you could just air it out and make sure you have all the poles ropes and stakes and ship it here U.P.S. no later than the 26th it would sure be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance Sister.

The mosquitoes are so bad down there we were gonna spray but at the last minute I had the brainstorm of floatin gold citronella candles on purple Frisbees in the swimmin pool that's right next to the garden.

Maureen's Grandparents said they would see to it that nobody used the swimming pool during the ceremony. That goes for the pooper scooper area at the lower end of the garden. Those poodles will just have to wait til we're through to do their do.

Maureen's Momma and Denny Wayde's Step Momma are gonna wear matching dresses, one in gold one in purple. Maureen is doin both of their hair with Hairdini attachments she got at her shower. The attendants will be dressed in purple and gold ,puckered sear-sucker gowns with a bow and flounce in the back. Spunky's bow and flounce will be attached to the back of her chair to echo the effect.

A Welch's grape spritzer will serve as the wedding punch. Banana Moon Pies, Twinkies, and peanut patties will be served, since Denny Wayde's daddy stocks all of the vending machines at the High school and the Movie theaters. The cake is to be a replica of the starship enterprise from the original Star Trek series. I found out the hard way when I went to Michael's and bought the pans for the wrong space ship. They wouldn't take em back either. It seems Denny Wayde is the president of the local Trekkies Association.

Maureen has composed a little poem to be read at the wedding and it is so sweet.

My Denny Wayde I Love you true

But when we met who knew, did you?

That soon our love would be what grew and grew

Between us.

There on your Momma's good sofa

With the glow from the cable T.V. dancin in our eyes

It wasn't hard to visualize

What would become of us

I Claudia Maureen Herzog will be thy Bride

Cuz when I first saw you I liked to died

And through the years if you find you must slap my face

to change my mind or show me my place.

I will always understand,

That God has put you in command.

And I must truly stand by my man

Wish me luck with the wedding.

Love, your Sister Leona
