Publishing Personal Sweep Net Web Pages

We allow you to create and change your personal web pages via any FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client program. This includes Microsoft's FrontPage, as well as the Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard, which you can download from Microsoft as an option of the Internet Explorer 5.0 package.

If you use FrontPage, follow this procedure:

  1. Under the File menu, select ‘Publish Web...’.
  2. Specify the location as ‘ftp://ftp.sweep.net/<web pages subfolder>’, where your web pages subfolder is assigned by Sweep Net.
  3. Select PUBLISH.
  4. When prompted for a User Name, enter your usual Sweep Net logon.
  5. When prompted for a Password, enter your usual Sweep Net password.
  6. Select OK to begin transferring the web pages.

If you use the Web Publishing Wizard, follow this procedure:

  1. When the Welcome Screen is displayed, Select NEXT to continue.
  2. Select the folder on your local computer where your web pages are located.
  3. Select NEXT to continue.
  4. Enter a new name under which the following setup selections will be saved for future use (for example, ‘My Web Pages’).
  5. Select ADVANCED to enter the FTP parameters.
  6. Choose FTP as the Connection Method in the pulldown menu.
  7. Select NEXT to continue.
  8. Enter 'ftp.sweep.net' as the Internet Address.
  9. Select NEXT to continue.
  10. Enter your web pages subfolder (assigned by Sweep Net).
  11. Select NEXT to continue.
  12. Select FINISH to continue.
  13. When prompted for a User Name, enter your usual Sweep Net logon.
  14. When prompted for a Password, enter your usual Sweep Net password.
  15. Select OK to begin transferring the web pages.

The next time you use the Web Publishing Wizard, all parameters from step (5) to the end will be supplied automatically when you select the setup name previously entered in step (4).

If you are NOT using FrontPage or the Web Publishing Wizard, you will need the following:

FTP Parameters
FTP Server Name ftp.sweep.net
User Name <your usual Sweep Net logon>
Password <your usual Sweep Net password>
FTP Directory <your web pages subfolder> (assigned by Sweep Net)

To view your web pages, point your web browser to the URL (assigned by Sweep Net). If you have any questions or problems, feel free to email us at support@sweep.net or contact us by phone at (713) 522-1718.
