👀 Universal table

Easier ways to view and manage emission measurements

It's now much easier and faster to enter, view and manage your carbon emission measurements on Sweep.

There's a new, customisable, table that shows you at a glance everything you've input and where measurements are incomplete.

It includes any custom columns from your own CSV file that you have uploaded, and you can edit data more easily using new bulk edit features and business rules (see below).

Go to the Measure section and the All data tab to view the new measurement table.

Bulk edit

Bulk edit is a new feature that lets you quickly edit multiple data fields all in one go.

Click on the Edit button ad tick the boxes of the rows you would like to change. Then click on Bulk edit and choose which column you want to edit (Emission factor, Activity data, etc.). Enter the correct value and hit Done when you’re finished.

🏷 Business rules

Handle emissions data automatically

Business rules are a smart, flexible and fast way to manage and edit your emissions data. You simply set up a rule to tell Sweep what to do with data that meets a certain criteria.

Rules are most useful when handling large amounts of data, and when you have to import similar datasets repeatedly – if you upload a new data export from your systems every month, for example.

To create a new rule, click on Bulk edit + rule + new rule. You can then apply the rule to take effect when you input new data or to data that's already in your Sweep table.

👤 Custom user roles

Tailor Sweep to your team

You can now create your own user roles and manage your teams more easily.

Roles determine the permissions for each user – which parts of Sweep they can access and what they have permission to do (measuring emissions, for example, or editing, reporting or auditing).

You can give users default Sweep roles, such as Architect or Reporter, which with have access and permissions pre-defined.

Or you can create your own custom roles. Go to the Users tab in your Account settings then choose Roles. From there, click on New role.

You can also change the permissions and access levels for the custom roles you've already created, and assign users different roles.

New this month

  • Emission factor dashboard

🏷 Emission factor dashboard

Understand your carbon footprint at-a-glance

The emission factor dashboard is a dynamic, easy-to-read chart of your emission factors. It lets you analyse your carbon footprint at a glance, and you can drill down into the details to find out more about where your emissions come from.

Click on Communicate + Emission Factors. This will display a treemap chart of your emission factors. You can see the details for each emission factor, such as activity data or scopes, by clicking on it.

You can change the way you view your emission factor data, using the customise button. Instantly see which emission factor has the most data points, for example, or which of your scopes it contributes to.

The colour scale tool replaces the default colours with a gradient. The bigger the emission, for example, the darker the shade, which means you can see right away where your heaviest emissions are.

🌳 Tree templates

Mapping emissions and tasks just got a whole lot easier

Now you can add branches (that allow you to easily assign and track emissions) at the click of a button. You just select the template you need and Sweep will generate a ready-made branch with the structure and emissions all there.

Let’s say you have an office. Just click on Edit + Templates and select Office from the dropdown menu. Then decide which scopes you’d like to measure (if you’re new to Sweep or carbon footprinting, we’d recommend choosing scopes 1&2 at first. Scope 3 can come later, when you’ve got the hang of things).

You can add, move or delete things if you like, or you can just go ahead and use it the way it is. All you need to do is assign it to someone and start measuring.

🏷 Tags

More flexible ways to analyse and report your data

You can now assign tags to any group in your tree. This comes in handy when you want to track emissions or create reports across different branches of your tree.

You’ll find this feature in the Settings tab in the sidebar panel. Scroll down to Tags and select one from the dropdown menu, or create a new one.

You can use tags to filter the data you see in Dashboard and Reports in the Communicate🎙 section. Just click on the Tag menu at the top, and choose a tag to filter the data.

🌿 Ordering branches

Put your branches where you want them to grow

Another crowd pleaser: new groups now always appear on the right side of your branch, and you can place them where you like.

Go to the settings tab in the sidebar panel and scroll down to the branches section. Move the branches by grabbing the menu icon and simply dragging it up or down.

Don’t forget to click publish to make the changes available to everyone in your Sweep account.
